Paige: ‘The comeback is always stronger than the setback’

In an Instagram posted before a report broke saying WWE would not clear Paige to return to the ring after a scary moment at a house show on Dec. 28, 2017 which appeared to be related to her recent neck surgery, but after that report said she was informed of the company’s decision, the 25 year old former champ struck a positive tone:

The comeback is always stronger than the setback ❤️ @wwe

A post shared by Paige WWE (@realpaigewwe) on

Still no word from WWE, Paige or any official source confirming PWInsider’s report, but it’s been substantiated by other sites, and the lack of a denial seems telling.

In addition to the fact this Instagram doesn’t reference the report directly in any way, it’s worth reinforcing that even if it is in response to word of injury forcing her to retire, “comeback” doesn’t necessarily mean Paige plans to wrestle again. As many have pointed out, managing or other roles are available to her within the business, and she has her whole life ahead of her outside it, should she choose to leave sports entertainment.

But, of course, at this juncture we just don’t know.

Keep a good thought and stay tuned.
