Two former champions rumored to return for Women’s Royal Rumble (potential SPOILER)

WWE.com

Surprise entries are a staple of Royal Rumble matches, and especially since Kurt Angle informed us the first ever Women’s version would have 30 participants, we’ve known there would have to be some names from the past to fill out the field in Philadelphia on Jan. 28.

According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE is hoping at least two of the veteran women entering the ring at Wells Fargo Center will have championships on their resume.

The site says that former Women’s and Hardcore champion Molly Holly is booked for the Rumble. She’s been working as a trainer in her native Minnesota. Holly (real name Nora Greenwald) hasn’t performed for the company since WrestleMania XXV, but did record a Table for Three for WWE Network in 2015, and another in 2016 with the other rumored name.

Michelle McCool’s return isn’t locked in, but The Undertaker’s wife has been in talks with WWE. The former Divas champ left after a “Loser Leaves WWE” match against her former partner Layla at Extreme Rules in 2011. Her name being in the mix at all will probably feed rumors about her husband returning soon, too.

Will Molly and Michelle walk the ramp and return for a piece of history in a few weeks? Will other legends join them?

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything, scripted fight fans.
