Triple H skipped SmackDown to have dinner with Ronda Rousey, and you know what that means (hopefully... cause we don’t)

Triple H on Twitter

TMZ was out and about in Los Angeles last night (Jan. 9), doing TMZ things. And “doing TMZ things” means catching stuff like WWE Executive Vice-President Paul “Triple H” Levesque having dinner with Ronda Rousey.

It’s hard to tell from the video posted by TMZ Sports, but their folks on the ground say it shows Triple H leaving the Republique restaurant in L.A. moments before Ronda and her agent exit. In speaking to Rousey or her rep, neither give up any information about the meeting, and never even confirm it was in fact Hunter they were dining with, but we’ll take them at their word on at least seeing him. It would have been easy enough for Ronda or her manager to deny when asked if it wasn’t a dinner with The Game.

The celebrity news site makes it sound like a big deal Haitch missed the Jan. 9 SmackDown and 205 Live taping in Birmingham, Alabama, and while it may be rare for him to miss a televised show, he was in California as the 25th Anniversary of Raw was celebrated at the Television Critics Association’s Winter 2018 event.

This is more newsworthy because we’re coming up on Royal Rumble, and the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champ is rumored to be making her WWE debut at the Jan. 28 pay-per-view (PPV) in Philadelphia - possibly even as the winner of the first ever Women’s Rumble match. Of course, there are also reports that she’ll be in Columbia filming Mile 22, a movie she’s doing with Mark Wahlberg, on that date, so...

Last we heard, there was no deal in place between Rousey and WWE, but that hasn’t stopped reports that there soon will be. Was it finally hashed out over a duck entree last night?

Stay tuned.
