Big E wins vote to partner with Carmella for Mixed Match Challenge

There was only one team left to be unveiled for Mixed Match Challenge, WWE’s new series for Facebook Watch which will pit teams of men and women from Raw and SmackDown against each other as they compete for $100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Given that all the participants have been announced and eleven of the twelve teams revealed, you wouldn’t think there would be much suspense about the last pairing. But thanks to a fan vote between the three members of New Day to determine who would be paired with Carmella, when it came to their final duo, SmackDown didn’t even need a last minute poll negated by an injury for drama.

They did have a vote, and Xavier Woods may have influenced it by revealing he was supporting Big E rather than himself or Kofi Kingston. But General Manager Daniel Bryan supplied all the drama you could want by giving Ms. Money in the Bank a pull-a-stenciled-flapjack-from-a-box-of-Booty-Os gimmick for the big reveal:

E’s dreams have come true, and now all we need is a team name!

Think on that, and catch up on all the team announcements while you get ready for the premiere, next Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10PM:

Lana and Rusev
Finn Balor and Sasha Banks
Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode
Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss
Jimmy Uso and Naomi
Nia Jax and Apollo Crews
The Miz and Asuka
Goldust and Alicia Fox
Elias and Bayley
Shinsuke Nakamura and Natalya
Becky Lynch and Sami Zayn
