WWE 205 Live results (Sept. 5, 2017): Fatal 5Way to determine the #1 contender

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE 205 Live in its regular Tuesday night at 10PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Last week, Enzo Amore won his first match on the cruiserweight show, teaming with Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik (and using a handful of tights) to beat Drew Gulak, Tony Nese and Noam Dar.

The same teams square off last night and got the same result. Then, Neville informed the triumphant babyfaces they’d be three-fifths of a Fatal 5Way to determine his next challenger tonight. Nese made the cut, and The Brian Kendrick will round out the field since his feud-mate Jack Gallagher if out for a few weeks due to the stitches he needed after their last encounter.

Plus, Rich Swann knows TJP isn’t hurt anymore, so their rubber match should be happening sooner rather than later.

We'll post match results and plot developments here. And this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the WWE’s cruiserweight showcase - while it’s being broadcast!

Enjoy the show!

- Each of the five men in the main event get a spot in the opening video, either via highlight or quick interview

- Nigel McGuinness is here with Vic Joseph to call the action. He hypes the cruiserweights and mocks Enzo.

- Recap of last week’s reveal of TJP’s faux injury during Ariya Daivari’s match with Rich Swann takes us into Perkins’ first match in a while. His opponent gets an inset promo, where Daivari promises to inflict pain on TJ until he really needs crutches. Rich Swann is out with popcorn to watch, and sets up a folding chair on the announce desk to get a good view.

- TJP def. Ariya Daivari via pinfall following the Detonation Kick (~4:00)

- Swann gets in the ring and tells TJ they should have a one-on-one rubber match in their “friendly rivalry” next week. He dabs on Perkins on his way out. Nigel says he’s going to text Kurt Angle and try to make sure it happens.

- Highlights of The Brian Kendrick busting Jack Gallagher open last week.

- Drew Gulak is walking backstage handing out fliers for his “better 205 Live” on his way to the ring

- Angle got back to McGuinness, and TJP vs. Swann is happening next week

- Gulak is in the ring to speak. He wants to spread his message, so he did something “concise and FUN’ - he made a Powerpoint! It has 277 slides! Sadly, he only makes it through two of his proposals (1 - no jumping off the top rope, 2 - no jumping off the middle rope) when his opponent’s entrance music cuts him off

- Akira Tozawa def. Drew Gulak via pinfall following a senton from the top (~7:00)

- Dasha Fuentes interviews Enzo Amore about his “work smarter, not harder” quote from Raw. He puts over the division, but says he’s 3 - 0 as a cruiserweight without having traveled the world working the indies for ten years, and he’s putting 205 Live on the map, and he’s set his Certified G-PS on the title. Neville walks up and says he’s a disgrace who doesn’t belong with the athletes of the division. Amore cuts him off, calling him Frodo and saying he’s not gonna play this Game of Thrones - at No Mercy, he’s taking the belt.

- Zo also cuts a promo during his entrance, calling his opponents S-A-W-F-T

Enzo Amore pins Cedric Alexander to win a Fatal 5Way Elimination match (which also featured Tony Nese, The Brian Kendrick and Gran Metalik) to win a shot at Neville’s Cruiserweight championship at No Mercy

- Amore stays outside crowing about how smart he is. He pulls Kendrick off the apron at one point.

- Both heels attack Enzo, who gets in some offense but rolls out after taking tandem superkicks. Alexander and Metalik level them with drop kicks, the Cedric hits a standing Spanish Fly which leaves them both laying.

- Kendrick, Alexander and Nese are battling on the ropes in the corner when Metalik grabs them to hit a sunset flip superplex powerbomb!

- Zo tries to dive onto Nese and Kendrick, but they catch him and drop him on the announce table, then throw him over it into the barricade. TBK convinces Nese to work together, than attacks him from behind. Metalik planchas onto Kendrick, then Nese turns him inside out with a clothesline.

- Nese sets up Metalik for his finisher, but Cedric hits him with the Lumbar Check to make Tony the first elimination.

- After sending Kendrick to the outside, Cedric escapes a Metalik Driver and counters a handspring move into the Lumbar Check to eliminate Gran Metalik.

- Cedric and Kendrick battle, but Alexander kicks out after Sliced Bread #2 and survives a couple applications of the Captain’s Hook to hit Lumbar Check and get the hat trick of eliminations!

- But Amore slides in and rolls him up with a handful of tights to pin Cedric!

- Enzo celebrates around the ring while Alexander seethes in the ring.
