Just a couple days ago, reports started making the rounds that Jeff Hardy suffered some kind of potentially serious shoulder injury. It was believed it occurred during the Six-Pack Challenge match on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Now, WWE is confirming both things to be true.
Indeed, WWE.com reports he suffered a torn labrum and a torn rotator cuff, and he will be undergoing surgery on Oct. 3 to repair the damage. One would assume that means an extended time on the shelf and a singles run for his brother, Matt, but Jeff isn’t ruling out coming back to television while he’s recovering:
“There’s a lot of crazy ideas. It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining.”
If Matt and Jeff’s run in TNA taught us anything, it’s that they can create compelling television without ever stepping in a ring to wrestle a match. Either way, Jeff has wrestled his last match for some time.
