John Cena vs. Roman Reigns full match preview: WWE No Mercy 2017

WWE.com

The match

After many years of avoiding it, the biggest star of the past decade, John Cena, is going one-on-one with the man WWE hopes will be the biggest star of the next decade, Roman Reigns, at tonight’s (Sun., Sept. 24, 2017) No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The story

They’ve done a LOT of talking.

Cena took every shot he could at Reigns, even admitting later that he was doing so in the hopes that Roman would get fed up, throw the script out the window, and unleash his entire payload. In a way, that’s what happened. They ended on Reigns using Cena’s own words against him, essentially letting John cut a promo on himself, before mocking his mic drop. It was a strong parting shot.

The gist of Cena’s promos: He’s only still around because Reigns can’t do his job, his promos suck, and he failed a drug test once.

The gist of Reigns’ promos: Cena is a fake ass little bitch who says stupid shit and is literally the biggest hypocrite on Earth.

They have not been physical with each other even once in the weeks leading up to this match. All they’ve done is talk.

What to expect

A fight.
