Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt
Finn Balor unleashed his demon form at SummerSlam 2017 in order to defeat Bray Wyatt. Wyatt's mind games proved to be highly ineffective against The Demon during this match.
One week later on Raw, Balor was well on his way to winning a Battle Royal to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, but then the lights went out. The Eater of Worlds appeared out of nowhere and eliminated Balor from the match. The message was clear: Bray Wyatt was not done with Finn Balor just yet.
The next week, Bray Wyatt explained that when he went hunting as a child he was quite skilled at using arrows to kill animals. He was really good at it but it eventually bored him because it was too easy. So he put his weapon down and started to hunt with his bare hands. That choice to put his weapon down defined him.
He then challenged Balor to make the same choice. Finn Balor did not defeat Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam. The Demon won at SummerSlam, and the Demon is Balor's bow and arrow. Wyatt challenged Balor to put the weapon down and face him man-to-man in order to define his legacy.
Bray Wyatt then spent the next two weeks with his sights set on Goldust, trying to remove his face paint to reveal the insecurities of the man who lies underneath.
It was then Finn Balor's turn to send a message to Wyatt. He told a story about a little kid was alone in the woods with mythology books. The boy became a man and found a way to harness his pain and anger, just like the gods and monsters in those books. That man created a demon, and if the demon is a creation of that man, which one is more dangerous? Bray Wyatt is going to find out at No Mercy.
Will Bray Wyatt demonstrate that a mere mortal cannot overcome a god? Or Will Finn Balor prove that the man is more dangerous than the demon he created?
Tune into No Mercy 2017 and keep it here on Cageside Seats to find out.
