The rumor going around after Big Show’s steel cage match with Braun Strowman last week was he would need surgery and would be out of action for a while. WWE confirmed that today, while also noting Hurricane Irma forced a delay in his going under the knife:

"WWE Universe, Mike Rome here in Anaheim, California gearing up for Monday Night Raw, where we got breaking news. Last week during his cage match against Braun Strowman we learned that the Big Show suffered a right hip injury. The guys at WWE dot com were able to catch up with him where he had this to say: 'Going through the cage I hit and I knew something was wrong. I was trying to be cool about it but it was very hard to put weight on it.' We've learned that this injury is going to require surgery, which was supposed to take place this week but due to the events of Hurricane Irma it's been pushed back to the 29th. All of us here at WWE wish the Big Show the best of luck."
If this is the end for Show, he did one hell of a job putting over a new young star on his way out.
