Zelina Vega is already paying dividends for Andrade “Cien” Almas.
In his first official match since she (re?)entered his life a few weeks back, Vega called Almas out on his “tranquilo” schtick every time he slipped into during a match with No Way Jose tonight (Aug. 9). As a result, Andrade put the Dominican dancer away in a decisive victory. Zelina then got the microphone and told Johnny Gargano her “associate” would meet him in Brooklyn next Saturday at TakeOver.

Johnny Wrestling is looking to establish himself in WWE as a singles wrestler after his tag partner Tommaso Ciampa shockingly betrayed him in Chicago at NXT’s last live special. An injury to the Sicilian Psychopath put their obvious feud on hold, and Gargano doesn’t want to miss his first TakeOver in a year, so he’s been calling for an opponent at Barclays Center.
General Manager William Regal quickly ratified Vega’s acceptance of Johnny’s challenge, and we probably have the full line-up for Aug. 19. But there is one more week to go...
Here’s the updated, and quite possibly final, TakeOver: Brooklyn III match card:
- Bobby Roode (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the NXT championship
- Ember Moon vs. Asuka (c) for the NXT Women’s title
- Authors of Pain (c) vs. SAnitY for the NXT tag team championship
- Aleister Black vs. Hideo Itami
- Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas
