A spoiler about SummerSlam plans for John Cena which isn’t very surprising

WWE pulled an interesting trick last Tuesday when the action related to SmackDown’s main event match between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura spilled over to WWE Network and 205 Live.

Nakamura had already pinned Cena to earn the right to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE title at SummerSlam (in case it’s still sinking in for you a week later, everything in that sentence is 100% real) and was celebrating the victory when his frequent nemesis, Money in the Bank briefcase holder Baron Corbin, attacked.

It was the kind of thing which doesn’t sit well with the guy whose gear says “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect”, so Cena saved Nak from further damage and battled the Lone Wolf himself. A battle that culminated in this:

With Cena out of the hunt for a 17th WWE title, and soon to be off to Raw and Hollywood, it didn’t take a PhD in Thuganomics to see where this was headed. And PWInsider is reporting that Cena vs. Corbin will be added to the SummerSlam card.

That announcement will probably happen tonight (Aug. 8) when SmackDown comes our way from Air Canada Centre. Find out along with us in our live blog here, and let us know what you think of the news below.
