If you’re wondering why the Samoa Joe vs. John Cena match rumored to go down on Raw last night (Aug. 28) didn’t happen, and why Joe wasn’t on the show at all just a week after being in the main event of both SummerSlam and its fallout show, this new report from PWInsider likely explains it.
At the red brand house show in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Sat., Aug. 26, Joe is said to have suffered a knee injury “of some sort” during his match with Cena. There were no fan reports indicating any problems during the match itself, and it went to what looked like a planned finish with The Free Agent hitting an Attitude Adjustment for a pinfall victory.
Joe did not work Sunday’s live event in Tupelo, Mississippi, and then missed Raw. Neither Joe nor WWE has acknowledged the injury at this time, but Insider’s sources tell them he’s expected to miss about a month.
We’ll keep you posted.
