Two new signings announced during Mae Young Classic, including American Ninja Warrior’s Kacy Catanzaro

WWE Network

WWE somewhat quietly revealed two new signees to the Performance Center roster during episode two of the Mae Young Classic (MYC), released on the Network today (Aug. 28) - and one of them has a pretty substantial following from outside the world of pro wrestling.

26 year old Kacy Catanzaro is the first woman to complete American Ninja Warrior’s city finals course, something the former collegiate gymnast did back in 2014. Catanzaro is undersized, but as someone who’s landed on Sports Illustrated’s Fittest 50 list twice, shouldn’t have a problem following in Alexa Bliss’ footsteps in making up for her short stature. The SBNation dedicated to ANW chronicled her WWE dreams earlier this year - you can check that out here.

Shadia Bsesio is an experienced television presenter and voice-over artist with a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based out of the United Arab Emirates. She tried out while WWE was recently in Dubai, and is likely someone they plan to use in their expansion into the Middle East and North Africa. She is fluent in English and Arabic.

Congrats to both women, and we’ll hope to see them on NXT - or the second MYC!
