WWE taped future episodes of NXT television tonight and while normally we wouldn’t spoil future shows, well, WWE already did it by reporting on one of the big angles that happened:
The #NXTUniverse cheers for @WWEAsuka moments after relinquishing the #NXTWomensTitle to GM @RealKingRegal. #ThankYouAsuka #WeAreNXT pic.twitter.com/2CjDsDKQXU
— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) August 25, 2017
Yes, Asuka, who WWE reported suffered a collarbone injury at TakeOver: Brooklyn III in her successful title defense against Ember Moon, relinquished the championship.
WWE did not, however, report on what happened surrounding her relinquishing the title, so they may be simply using it to help promote future shows. For that reason, we won’t spoil it here, instead directing you to the full spoiler post right here.
Update: It’s worth noting that WWE doesn’t even mention her injury in their reporting of this:
After her dominant performance and historic 500-plus day reign as NXT Women’s Champion, The Empress of Tomorrow looks to her future for new opportunities in WWE, though no specific details are known at this time.
