WWE NXT results, live blog (Aug. 23, 2017): TakeOver Brooklyn III fallout

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- The usual well-produced video package gives us the big moments from Saturday night, and we’re off...

- No Way Jose vs. Lars Sullivan... never starts because Lars Sullivan wrecks him on the ramp, then smashes him into the barricade and wipes him out in the ring

- “Exclusive footage” of Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas’ win over Johnny Gargano at TakeOver; then a new interview of Gargano by Kayla Braxton. He refuses to make excuses and blame the loss on the memory brought up by the t-shirt Zelina Vega threw at him. He made a mistake and it cost him. He promises himself and everyone who believes in him that that wasn’t the end for Johnny Wrestling.

- Highlights of Asuka’s win over Ember Moon, and the fallout video of the champ’s “press conference with foreign media” is shown. Mauro Ranallo addressed the news of her collarbone injury, and Asuka’s response to the announcement the Empress will be out for 6 - 8 weeks.

- Christy St. Cloud chats with Pete Dunne and Wolfgang backstage. Dunne says his United Kingdom title win was the beginning of the UK brand, and every time he wrestles in singles or tag action he proves the brand belongs to the Bruiserweight. Wolfgang suggests that after they win tonight, he get a title shot. Dunne tells him not to get ahead of himself, and to focus on winning tonight.

- Peyton Royce (with Billie Kay) def. Sarah Logan via pinfall via a bridging fisherman’s suplex

- Recap of SAnitY’s tag title win over Authors of Pain, and Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly crashing the party.

- More “exclusive footage”, this time of Saturday’s NXT title match -much of it from Drew McIntyre and Bobby Roode’s entrances. McIntyre’s big win and the arrival of Adam Cole is covered. Under a graphic that says “FUTURE SHOCK” (get it?!?!), Mauro promises well hear from Drew and learn more about the ROH trio’s alliance next week. They then show the fallout video of Roode freaking out after his loss, and Roderick Strong taunting him. THEN, they mention his SmackDown appearance, and Kayla interviews him outside Barclays. The former champ says he never leaves unfinished business, and he has unfinished business with Roderick Strong... plus, he has a rematch coming with McIntyre. He vows to win back his title and take it SmackDown, which he will then make... you know.

- Highlights of Aleister Black and Hideo Itami’s strikefest precedes footage of Black leaving the building, walking by and ignoring “journalists” trying to ask him about the match.

- Pete Dunne and Wolfgang def. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven via pinfall (Wolfgang on Bate following The Howling (high-angle senton) and blind tag after Bate had hit Tyler Driver ‘97 on the champ)
