Bobby Roode debuts on SmackDown Live

Aiden English was just trying to sing.

He barely got a few notes out on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York when the lights went out and familiar tune hit the loudspeakers.

GLORIOUS.

Indeed, it was Bobby Roode, who just lost the NXT championship to Drew McInytre at TakeOver: Brooklyn III days ago, making his debut on the main roster. The two proceeded to have a match where it was English’s job to put the newcomer over to kick off his run under the bright lights in “the land of opportunity,” as they continue to call the blue brand.

After his win, Roode was interviewed by Renee Young. He thanked Daniel Bryan for cashing in on him, because everything he does is big box office and “in a New York minute SmackDown Live went from being great to being absolutely glorious.”

Happy he’s here?
