The news from yesterday (Aug. 21) afternoon that NXT Women’s champion Asuka suffered a broken collarbone in her TakeOver: Brooklyn III victory over Ember Moon was undoubtedly a bummer.
Luckily, NXT’s taping schedule - and the fact there currently isn’t another live WWE Network schedule planned until November’s pre-Survivor Series show, TakeOver: Houston - gives Triple H and team time and flexibility to work around the injury. There have been no announcements yet to indicate they’ll force her to relinquish the belt, for instance, although we’ll know more when this week’s episode airs on Wednesday, and when new editions are filmed on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Empress of Tomorrow has commented on the injury, tweeting a picture of her x-ray with a note that seems to indicate she has no regrets. Getting to keep the longest undefeated streak in modern WWE history rolling is a nice consolation prize, don’t you know...

I have decided to see it through no matter what the cost... Because I'm a super star. #toKeepLaughing #WWE pic.twitter.com/sNDXcivgZL
She’s a super star, after all, like Arnold Schwarzenegger...

We’ll be waiting when you get here, champ. As will a lot of ladies in NXT.
