The match
John Cena takes on Baron Corbin in singles action at tonight’s (Sun., Aug. 20, 2017) WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The story
This one started because Corbin decided to attack Shinsuke Nakamura just after he defeated Cena to earn a WWE championship match at this very show. Cena, seeing this, could not let it slide and intervened, putting Baron through a table.
That led to return fire in the form of Corbin attacking Cena while he was about to pin Jinder Mahal, the WWE champion, then wasting way too much time deciding to cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Cena interrupted just enough to give Baron the chance to make another dumb decision.
He took it.
He lost.
Cena laughed in his face.
Now they’re going to wrestle.
What to expect
Corbin is real, real dumb but Cena loses at SummerSlam a lot. He’s also headed for Monday Night Raw right after this, so that could mean something here.
Tune in tonight to find out!
