SAnitY vs. Authors of Pain set for TakeOver: Brooklyn III

WWE Network

Eric Young’s been missing for a little while (he took off the last taping because his mother just died, and hasn’t appeared on either of the episodes which have aired from the latest one), but his charges have been busy. And SAnitY’s plans look to have accomplished their goal, as it was revealed tonight Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain will challenge the Authors of Pain for the NXT tag team titles at TakeOver: Brooklyn III.

That duo, along with Nikki Cross, has been a thorn in the side of Paul Ellering’s champions for a couple weeks. Last week, things got physical when SAnitY wiped out the enhancement talent squad who were set to face Akam and Rezar, then got into it with the Authors. AoP stood tall, but Wolfe especially seemed to enjoy it.

So here we are. In reality, this heel vs. heel match probably isn’t anyone backstage’s ideal situation, but with the break-up of #DIY and Shane Thorne of TM-61 still rehabbing from knee surgery, there’s not really anyone else ready for a high profile opportunity like a WWE Network special.

This is the third match announced for Aug. 19, and we’re actually all caught with what was revealed in Full Sail at the July 12 taping, but if you want spoiler-y rumors about what’s ahead, check here.

Here’s the card as of tonight:

- Bobby Roode (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the NXT championship

- Ember Moon vs. Asuka (c) for the Women’s title

- Authors of Pain (c) vs. SAnitY for the tag team championship
