WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Aug. 15, 2017): Numbers down for Cena/Mahal

WWE.com

The blue brand has settled in when it comes to audience size. For the sixth straight week, SmackDown LIVE drew roughly two-and-a-half million viewers on Aug. 15.

Numbers actually dropped for an episode which advertised a non-title match between John Cena and WWE champ Jinder Mahal, with 2.53 million tuning in for the SummerSlam ‘go home’ show - about 50,000 less than the week before. That was good for fifth among cable originals on the evening behind political talk shows, two each on Fox News and MSNBC.

Their share of the 18 - 49 year old demographic was down slightly, too. WWE still won the night, but the rating dipped to a .77 from .80 seven days earlier.

Maybe not too surprising considering the only newsworthy happening on the show occurred at the last minute when Baron Corbin lost his Money in the Bank cash-in to Mahal.

We’ll see if anything happens on pay-per-view (PPV) to draw more eyes to the company’s fourth straight night in Brooklyn next Tuesday. Here’s a rundown of the blue brand’s numbers this year:
