Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks now official for WWE SummerSlam 2017

With Bayley injured, WWE had to find a new number one contender to Alexa Bliss’s Raw women’s championship. They did this by booking two triple threat matches — won by Sasha Banks and Nia Jax, respectively — with the victor’s meeting on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The winner of that match would book a date with Bliss at SummerSlam this Sun., Aug. 20, 2017, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It started off looking like Nia was going to win going away:

Sasha was persistent, though, and, used the Banks Statement — twice! — to submit Jax to earn yet another shot at one of her most heated rivals and the title she used to hold.

The updated match card:

- Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar (c) in a Fatal 4Way for the WWE Universal championship; if Lesnar loses, he and Paul Heyman leave WWE)

- Shinsuka Nakamura vs. Jinder Mahal (c) for the WWE title

- Naomi (c) vs. Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s championship

- Alexa Bliss (c) vs. XXX for the Raw Women’s title

- The New Day (c) vs. The Usos for the SmackDown tag team championship
