Dang, now I really don’t know how I feel.
As I shared the other day when Dwayne Johnson posted an Instagram video breaking the news he’d be “evolving” his iconic Brahma Bull tattoo, it sounded like a big deal. I didn’t know it would be this big, though. I also was pretty sure The Rock wouldn’t cover up the old design, which has become the logo for his brand.
Welp, it’s gone. In its place is a more realistic yet stylized skull piece. Let Rocky explain it to you:
Everybody’s got a right to decorate their bodies as they see fit, Johnson clearly has some deeply felt reasons for the new look and, even in an unfinished state, it’s definitely a beautifully done tattoo from Nikko Hurtado.
But it’s gonna take some getting used to.
The old bull will live on, certainly. I can’t see merchandise from partners like WWE and Under Armour using this intricate design as the lone symbol of their ties to The Great One, after all.
Let us know your reaction, Cagesiders. I’ll be over here thinking way too much about somebody else’s upper arm.
