Brock Lesnar puts his Universal championship on the line against Samoa Joe in the main event of the WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sun., July 9, 2017) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Joe won a Fatal 5-Way to earn his shot and immediately went about executing a plan. That plan, boiled down, was to attack Lesnar’s mind as much as his body. He had to get at the confidence that borders on cocksureness, or at least chip away at it enough to replace that casual disrespect that is Brock’s trademark with some measure of doubt.
He started here:
The next step was to hold his own in a physical confrontation, and did he ever:
The last step was show he could actually get the better of Lesnar:
It all may have been for naught, however, because with just one week until the match, Brock’s attitude remained unchanged. There is no doubt within this man, and, actually, it is Joe who appears to have come unhinged:

What to Expect
You know what to expect as far as outcome, because there’s nothing to indicate WWE has suddenly decided Joe will be the new face of the franchise and beating Lesnar for the title should be a really, really big deal for whoever gets the honor. What’s interesting here is just how good Joe can be in a match against a guy like Lesnar. If it’s as good as the feud has been, it could mean big things for his future within WWE.
We’ll find out later on this evening.
