WWE SmackDown Live viewers hurt by July 4 holiday but not much

WWE.com

WWE, knowing it was up against Independence Day, loaded up this week’s episode of SmackDown Live with the return of “free agent” John Cena, a women’s title match, and a US title number one contender battle royal. The result?

Viewers came in at 2.32 million viewers, a drop from the 2.60 million last week’s show brought in. That’s a big drop, yes, but considering the holiday it has to be considered a victory the numbers stayed in line with what the show has been doing over the past couple months.

It was still the top show for the night in viewers and the coveted 18-49 demographic.
