WWE was in Nashville for Monday Night Raw last week, with GFW meetings in the same city. That meant talents from both companies were running into each other out and about, which isn’t anything to write home about, of course.
But there’s a story going around this week that is absolutely worth writing about.
It started in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), where Dave Meltzer wrote that Braun Strowman and Karen Jarrett got into it at a bar. The long and short of it, according to the Observer’s telling, is that Karen approached Braun about an autograph for her son and he was rude in response. This led to Karen cutting a big promo on him, where she revealed current Raw General Manager Kurt Angle is the father of the son she was asking for an autograph for and she would be informing him of what happened.
At this point, Strowman apparently became extremely apologetic, even getting on his knees and begging her not to tell Angle about what happened. She scolded him for only doing so after finding out Angle was the boy’s father and he agreed while continuing to apologize.
Today, PW Insider followed up with its side of the story, saying the two did have a conversation but a witness told them it was just two drunk people getting loud with each other and nothing else.
We can’t know which version of the story is true, but it’s a bonkers story either way.
