This is where most of us figured things were headed, and on the July 26 episode of NXT, General Manager William Regal confirmed the Women’s title match at TakeOver: Brooklyn III will indeed be a rematch of Orlando’s championship bout.
Ember Moon will once again try to break Asuka’s historic undefeated streak and claim the title on Aug. 19 in Barclays Center.
The Empress of Tomorrow’s been sitting at home since defeating Nikki Cross in a Last Woman Standing match last month, claiming she wouldn’t return until Regal found a worthy challenger was found.
With a victory against Ruby Riot last Wednesday and another this week against the much larger Lei’D Tapa, Moon stated her case. Probably because he saw that it took multiple officials to help Tapa to the back after Moon hit her with her top-rope twisting stunner finisher, the Eclipse.
This is the second match officially announced for the show, joining Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Roode for the NXT title. But if you want spoilers on what else we know (and rumors about what might still develop) - head here.
