Raw Women’s champion Alexa Bliss dubbed them Team Gag Reflex, then joined commentary for the #1 contenders match between Sasha Banks and Bayley. The self-proclaimed Goddess’ spent the July 24 episode of WWE’s flagship program brushing off the dormant story of the tension between the new besties, especially Sasha’s sense of superiority over the Hugster.
With a lot of observers wondering if this program would follow the path set by the Universal championship to become a multi-wrestler affair, the ill will Bliss trying to stir up could have played a factor in the finish... or interference by Alexa’s ally, Nia Jax.
Somewhat surprisingly, neither happened.
Fighting for a chance at another big moment in Barclays Center, Bayley and The Boss didn’t quite deliver a TakeOver: Brooklyn quality match, but their chemistry was on display again from the start.

The finish came when Banks hit a Frog Splash, but Bayley rolled through on the cover and covered Sasha for a three count. The Boss looked disappointed, but left the ring a short time later so her friend could have a staredown with the champion.
If this match remains booked as is from now until Aug. 20, the SummerSlam card currently looks like this:
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a Fatal 4Way for the Universal championship
Natalya vs. Naomi (c) for the SmackDown Women’s title
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley for the Raw Women’s championship
