Sometimes the most obvious answer is the correct one.
General Manager Kurt Angle eventually came to that conclusion about his main event for SummerSlam at the start of the July 24 Raw.
Ever since last Monday’s show ended with Braun Strowman returning to disrupt a #1 contenders match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe, the clear path was toward Brock Lesnar defending his Universal title in a Fatal 4Way against all three men. And unlike a lot of multi-man bouts from WWE, this was one a lot of fans wanted.
This week, when Braun, Joe and Reigns each showed up to tell Angle why they should get a one-on-one shot at the Beast Incarnate, the GM gave those fans what they wanted.
Then, we got a pull apart brawl between the three heavyweights to whet our appetite for Aug. 20 in Brooklyn!
