WWE Battleground 2017 results: Natalya wins 5Way for right to challenge Naomi at SummerSlam

The SmackDown Women’s title wasn’t on the line in Philadelphia tonight (July 23), but we got to Feel The Glow anyway, as Naomi entered and sat in on commentary for the 5way Elimination match to determine who will face her for the belt at SummerSlam.

And it’s a good thing she was, or no one would have called JBL “Jay Boo-Boo”, and we would have missed out on some quality Lana shade.

In the ring, Natalya and Becky Lynch were incapacitated quickly, leaving Charlotte Flair alone against the Ravishing Russian and her ally Tamina. The Queen eventually benefited the return of an ally of her own in Becky...

... but tensions between Charlotte and the Lasskicker flared up again quickly. Natty also got back into the mix, and things got chaotic - as they often do in multi-person matches.

Much of that chaos put Lana in jeopardy at the hands of Becky, but Tamina saved her each time. That plan didn’t last long, however, as Tamina and then the woman she’d been protecting tapped out to the Dis-Arm-Her.

Natalya ran in to pick the bones and pin Lynch, leaving another set of old rivals to settle things. Charlotte looked to have things under control with a massive powerbomb, but the Hart Dungeon grad kicked out.

She also managed to get her knees up on Flair’s signature moonsault, which led to a pinfall win following a suplex into the turnbuckles moments later.

The champ hit the ring to offer her hand to the new challenger, but Natalya started the mind games early, leaving Naomi hanging.

We’ll see if she pays for that come Aug. 20.
