Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.
Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.
We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!
NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
Enjoy the show!
- Intro, Mauro hype for the main event and straight to the action (after a flashback to the scene at the Performance Center from two weeks ago which set up our de facto Women’s title #1 contender match)!
- Ember Moon def. Ruby Riot via pinfall following the Eclipse
- With footage of a Kassius Ohno interview from earlier today, we learn KO requested and was granted a match against Hideo Itami for next week. Itami angrily barges into the scene to confirm, and ends up cursing Ohno out in Japanese and kicking a trash can.
- Another Street Profits promo video, this one with lots of Snapchat
- Oney Lorcan def. Danny Burch via submission with a single-leg crab
- Post-match, Oney offers his hand. Burch takes it, but won’t let go as he requests one more match with Lorcan. The Boston Brawler agrees, and the crowd loves it.
- No Way Jose def. Cezar Bononi via pinfall following the pop-up punch
- Afterwards, we see Andrade “Cien” Almas and his mysterious lady friend are ringside. She encourages him, and Almas jumps in the ring to put his designer shoes to Bononi. Jose runs in to put a stop to that, and Almas and the woman (Thea Trinidad) leave.
- Drew McIntyre def. Killian Dain via pinfall following two Claymores (and Dain kicking out of a Future Shock DDT at one!) to become the #1 contender to Bobby Roode’s NXT championship at TakeOver: Brooklyn III
- McIntyre screams a message to Bobby Roode as the show ends, telling the champ this isn’t his NXT, and the Scot is coming for the title
