Here’s how WWE handled Chad Gable’s first interview after Jason Jordan was revealed to be Kurt Angle’s son

New, comments

His reaction to the news that Jason Jordan, his now former partner in American Alpha, is Kurt Angle's son:

"Yeah, umm, what? As a SmackDown superstar you don't really think your whole life is going to turn upside down because you tuned into Raw one night. No (Jason didn't mention anything to me), and a little heads up would have been nice. This didn't just change Jason and Kurt's life, it changed my life too! But we talked after Raw, he called me, okay? But when you're a tag team, Renee, you basically live together on the road. You do everything together, we train, eat together -- I knew something was wrong. He was being very distant, it was obvious. He explained it all to me, word-for-word, and I understood what he was going through."

What's next for him now that Jordan is gone:

"Well, first of all, we accomplished a lot together. You know, we won the SmackDown tag team titles from Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. He supported me in huge matches against Kevin Owens, against 'The Phenomenal One,' AJ Styles. He's a great guy! Why would I not support him the same way he supported me? That's exactly what I'm going to do. But what's next for Chad Gable? I got some ideas."

When Renee asks if it's anything he can share:

"And ruin the surprise, right? No, no, look, that's not important. What's important is they got a whole new beginning going for them, right, but they're not the only ones. This is a great chance for everyone to see Chad Gable on his own."
