WWE is filming something other than NXT at Full Sail Live tonight, as the highly anticipated, Network-exclusive women’s tournament show the Mae Young Classic (MYC) welcomes 32 competitors from around the world to Winter Park, Florida.
This is the first of two nights of filming. Jim Ross, who will call the action with Lita and Alundra Blayze, says they will film 16 matches on July 13, or the entire first round. A second taping is set for Friday night, and will feature up to 14 matches (a live final is set for Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The matches filmed tonight and tomorrow will be released four episodes at a time, the first batch on Monday, Aug. 28 and the second a week later on Sept. 4.
Who’s facing who, and when will we see it? There’s a long way to go until the end of August, and a lot of production work to be done after filming, but we’ll know more when results start rolling in from Florida.
