Though most wrestling fans probably know her from her stint with TNA, where she worked as Rosita, Thea Trinidad doesn’t lack for WWE ties.
On Impact, she worked in an alliance with Sarita, who was portrayed by current NXT trainer Sarah Stock. Trinidad is engaged to Austin Aries, and will play AJ Lee in the upcoming Paige biopic Fighting With My Family.
Pretty much the only thing left for her to do was sign with WWE. And according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, that’s exactly what she’s done.
Ryan Satin reports Trinidad will join a group of recognizable names believed to have signed recently, including fellow TNA ex Gunner, women’s wrestlers Evie and Nixon Newell, and European grapplers Fabian Aichner and Axel Dieter Jr.
While it would be reasonable to guess Thea might join the upcoming Mae Young Classic women’s tournament, there’s another intriguing possibility. POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOLLOW... She appeared ringside during Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas’ match at the most recent NXT taping, and could play a role in the former La Sombra’s ongoing storyline where his focus on romance and nightlife seems to be costing him in the ring.
Stay tuned on that front. No matter how she’s used, if PWS’ story is correct, WWE is about to add even more talent to their already stacked roster.
