WWE NXT results, live blog (June 28, 2017): Last Woman Standing

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- A trailer tries to prepare us for the main event before the intro

- Nigel McGuinness welcomes us, and introduces Percy Watson and... Mauro Ranallo!

- Velveteen Dream def. Hoho Lun via pinfall following Purple Rainmaker (top rope elbow drop)

- Another earlier today, back of the SUV limo interview with disinterested Asuka is interrupted by Nikki Cross jumping on the hood of the car and trying to climb in before security drags her away while Asuka stares at her. We then see the champ now working the heavy bag with kick.

- Flashback to the end of Hideo Itami’s three GTS-es to Oney Lorcan at the end of their match three weeks ago sets up news they’ll rematch tonight

- In Willliam Regal’s office, Heavy Machinery is beefing with Authors of Pain. The General Manager informs us Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight will get a title shot in two weeks. After the challengers leave, Paul Ellering asks Regal “What Jurassic cocoon did you find them in?” The GM says they’re unusual, but dangerous.

- Hideo Itami vs. Oney Lorcan ends in a no contest when Oney immediately charges Itami and lights him up with European uppercuts and chops, resulting in Hideo bleeding profusely from the nose. After the referee and trainers check on him, they call for the bell as the crowd chants for Oney.

- Video package for Roderick Strong and his rivalry with Bobby Roode

- Itami makes his way back out to big cheers, and calls for Lorcan... and we have the bell, at which point Hideo charges him and blasts him with a knee!

- Hideo Itami def. Oney Lorcan via pinfall after a Go To Sleep (hit immediately after an injured Lorcan told the ref he wanted to continue)

- Post-match, Hideo gets a microphone and asks Kassius Ohno to come out. A wary Ohno comes out, and Itami offers his hand. Before KO can decide, however, Nikki Cross jumps on the apron. As Hideo and Kassius turn to look at her, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain attack! After destroying them, Wolfe grabs the mic. He says they have to do away with all these forced friendships, and Dain says they’ll do that with “chaos”. Wolfe says their maestro Eric Young is away working on his masterplan, but tonight, the first note with be struck by Cross. She wails on them and they leave as it’s main event time!

- Mid-match, we’re informed SAnitY’s Wolfe & Dain will face Itami & Ohno next week

- Asuka def. Nikki Cross in a Last Woman Standing match to retain her Women’s championship after suplexing Cross through the announce table from the top of a ladder
