Lana loses another SmackDown women’s title match to Naomi

In WWE, Naomi is what’s known as “a fighting champion,” which is the promotion’s way of booking her into matches that don’t make a lot of sense. That was the case on SmackDown Live this week, when she gave Lana a rematch for her SmackDown women’s championship only because Lana claimed she was distracted in their first encounter at Money in the Bank, where she was beaten clean.

So they ran it back tonight.

This time, Lana tried to get the edge by attacking Naomi before the bell and immediately hitting her finish just after they started. It wasn’t enough to get the pinfall, however, and Naomi responded with a kick to the head followed by the split legged moonsault.

That was enough to get the pin.

Naomi is still SmackDown women’s champion.

Lana is still Lana.
