Randy Orton got his rematch for the WWE championship against Jinder Mahal in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri at tonight’s (Sun., June 18, 2017) WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) at the Scottrade Center.
In the segment before, WWE introduced a group of legends who were sitting front row. Naturally, they got involved at various points, with Orton throwing Mahal into them and Jinder egging them on while he was on offense. He even used the Figure Four while Ric Flair looked on.
It looked like Orton had the match won after an RKO but, of course, the Singh brothers were there to put Mahal’s foot on the rope to break the count. That led to the two of them getting the boot from the referee. Before leaving they grabbed up Randy’s dad, which meant he took a vicious beatdown straight to them.
Naturally, this gave Mahal all the time in the world to recover, so when Orton got back in the ring, he ate a finish and was promptly pinned.
Jinder Mahal is still your WWE champion.
