The decision to have James Ellsworth grab the briefcase for Carmella to end the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was controversial to say the least.
While the execution of that angle on the June 18 pay-per-view (PPV) will certainly still upset a lot of fans, the story isn’t over... as this Tweet from returning General Manager Daniel Bryan proves:
Absolutely unacceptable and cheap. The circumstances surrounding the Women's #MITB match will be the FIRST thing addressed on #SDLive.— Daniel Bryan (@WWEDanielBryan) June 19, 2017
Commissioner Shane McMahon agrees:
This is not what I had envisioned for the FIRST EVER Women's #MITB match. @realellsworth and @CarmellaWWE just robbed the #WWE Universe.— Shane McMahon (@shanemcmahon) June 19, 2017
Tune in Tuesday for the rest of the story on SmackDown Live, if you haven’t already turned off your television, cancelled your WWE Network subscription and unfollowed all company social media accounts.
