WWE Money in the Bank 2017 results: Naomi taps out Lana... with Carmella and her briefcase watching from ringside

With the WWE Universe already fit to be tied about the outcome of the first women’s match at Money in the Bank in St. Louis tonight (June 18), Lana’s first ever singles match on television came around. And it happened to be a shot at Naomi’s Women’s championship.

The Ravishing Russian called her shot in a backstage interview, and followed it up by controlling the action in the early going. It was slow, methodical action, but generally sound, and one suplex sent Naomi’s recently injured knee into the bottom rope, setting up some submission/rest holds.

The champ fought back, but the Ravising Russian nearly ended it with her sitout spinebuster finish... and that’s when F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S YES hit the loud speakers.

The distraction created an opening for Naomi to lock in a submission of her own. She retained, and then engaged in a staredown with Carmella - who ended up opting to not cash-in on the celebrating champ.
