Rusev reportedly cleared to return

Been a busy week for WWE medical staff.

They gave Dash Wilder, Zack Ryder and Braun Strowman the go ahead to get back at it (unless, in Braun’s case, they didn’t), maybe put the brakes on Austin Aries wrestling in the near future and are waiting to get some test results back about Paige.

In the midst of all that, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, they also found time to clear Rusev after his rehab from shoulder surgery.

Since his surgery back in March, the Bulgarian Brute was moved to SmackDown in the post-WrestleMania Superstar Shake-up. Last month, he started an angle online which seemed headed toward a WWE title shot, or possibly a match with commissioner Shane McMahon, but that appears to have been dropped - allegedly because of the decision to put the belt on Jinder Mahal.

The blue brand has a glut of mid-card acts it’s not currently using, so it’ll be interesting to see how quickly Rusev can get back in the mix... mostly because using him sooner rather than later could be an indication WWE is ready to push him as a bigger star in SmackDown’s “land of opportunity”.
