WWE has been battling poor viewership totals for its flagship program, Monday Night Raw, for weeks now. There was an expectation those numbers would fall again this week, considering the company is on its annual springtime trip to the UK, which means this week’s episode aired via tape delay.
Sure enough, the show drew 2.68 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.86 million.
The hourly breakdown shows a big dip in the final hour:
Hour one: 2.83 million
Hour two: 2.85 million
Hour three: 2.42 million
Of course, the NBA Playoffs are providing stiff competition, as per usual, and Raw was still second behind the Warriors-Jazz game on cable, so it’s not all bad. That said, as the Observer notes, they haven’t seen numbers for the red brand this low since the Monday Night War in 1997 when WWE was duking it out with WCW.
