Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE 205 Live in its regular Tuesday night at 10PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.
As of this writing, WWE hasn’t announced any matches for the May 9 edition of 205 Live (which will be taped prior to its usual airing here in the States, so spoilers should be available ahead of time).
But we can guess that what’s shaping up to be a three-way Cruiserweight title picture between Neville, Austin Aries and TJP will addressed. The angles covered on last week’s show - Akira Tozawa’s quest to return The Brian Kendrick’s “lessons” to him, Drew Gulak’s crusade to make the show great by focusing on ground-based offense (at the expense of Mustafa Ali) and the reunion of Noam Dar & Alicia Fox - might be advanced, as well.
And who knows? The Cruisers were guests on the UK Championship events in Norwich this past weekend... maybe Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Trent Seven and company return the favor?
We'll post match results here, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the WWE’s cruiserweight showcase - while it’s being broadcast!
Enjoy the show!
- Recap of TJP earning his “championship opportunity” last night by beating Jack Gallagher before being chased off by Austin Aries, closing by questioning whether or not Neville will honor his promise
- Jack Gallagher out first, dressed in a suit and carrying William III. He introduces Austin Aries, thanking him for saving him from Theodore Jeeves Perkins’ Knee-Bar last night. Jackie Boy tells A-Double that honor dictates he watch Aries’ back to ensure he gets to his rematch at Extreme Rules in good health. He grabs a couple pints and starts to lead a round of “for he’s a jolly good fellow” when Neville’s music hits. The champ says he always thought Gallagher was a parody of an Englishman, but being in London makes him realize he’s just a symptom of a larger problem - England has lost its diginity. Aries says Neville shouldn’t talk about dignity, seeing as how he got himself disqualified to keep his belt. A-Double sticks up for England, and Neville says he’ll toast Aries... and his last appearance on 205 Live. The faces look confused and TJP attacks! He targets Austin’s injured knee, but Jack saves him. The heels then target Gallagher, but Aries recovers and takes out Neville over the announce table. Jack has TJP in the ring, and sprays him with beer, then hits a head butt! Neville attacks the Gentleman, but Aries comes in to hit the Discus Five-Arm and send the heels packing. Jackie Boy gets another couple pints, and the good guys have their toast and down their beers.
- Rich Swann is walking in the back. He passes Noam Dar & Alicia Fox. He can’t believe they’re back together, and questions if Noam is thinking with the right part of his body. They justify getting back together, and Rich says they deserve each other. Dar promises they’ll give Swann what he deserves, too.
- Mustafa Ali def. Tony Nese via pinfall following the inverted 450 splash
- Watching on a monitor backstage, Drew Gulak is distressed by Ali’s win
- Ariya Daivari is yelling at a shoe shine guy about how he won’t pay him for shoddy work on his boots, then yells at Akira Tozawa for running into him and messing up his expensive shirt. Tozawa “AH”s him until Daivari walks off.
- Hype video for the return of Cedric Alexander, which is happening “soon”
- Akira Tozawa def. The Brian Kendrick via pinfall after countering a Sliced Bread attempt with a roll through
- Afterwards, Kendrick destroys Tozawa on the announce table and steel stairs, finally pinning him between the two sections of the steps before getting a mic and announcing this is the last message he’s gonna give Akira - “nobody messes with The Brian Kendrick”. Then he sticks the mic in Tozawa’s mouth and walks off while Tom Phillips & Corey Graves call for help.
