The phrase ‘Don’t hinder Jinder’ is now in the official record of the Alberta Legislature

Much has been written and said about the influence the company’s business interests in India had on the decision to put the WWE title on Jinder Mahal at Backlash this past Sunday (May 21), but what about Mahal’s birth country... Canada?

Yes, the Maharajah (real name Yuvraj Singh Dhesi) is of Punjabi descent, but he was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. And they are proud, too.

Seeing as he’s the first WWE World champ from Calgary since the legendary Bret Hart almost 20 years ago, at this week’s meeting of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, the representative from Calgary-Shaw, Graham Sucha, stood and recognized Mahal and his accomplishment.

As you can see in the clip above, in so doing, Sucha managed to ensure the phrase “Don’t Hinder Jinder” appears in the official record of the session not once, but twice!

What a time to be alive.
