UPDATE: ESPN reached out to us to say “September 8 is not the airdate for the Ric Flair 30 for 30.” So, stay excited, but stay tuned for official premiere info.
Details have been slowly revealed for more than a year now about a documentary film from ESPN’s 30 For 30 series focused on WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. While some timeframes were floated for when we might actually see the thing, no one was on record with a premiere date.
That changed earlier today when PWInsider reported the film will debut on the cable network Friday, Sept. 8. Editing is still ongoing, but the finished product is expected to arrive at 90 - 120 minutes in length as it chronicles Flair’s life and career.
A preview clip released by ESPN last December gave us a taste of director Rory Karpf’s film, entitled Nature Boy. Insider included a list of names interviewed for the project, so you can look forward to seeing Vince McMahon, Undertaker, Triple H, Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Jim Ross, Eric Bischoff, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Flair's first wife Leslie, son David and daughters Megan & Ashley (aka Charlotte) talk about Naitch.
Looking forward to it?
