Despite being among the biggest names moved in the post-WrestleMania 33 Superstar Shake-Up last month, we haven’t seen much beyond teaser videos for this act over the past several weeks.
That will change on Tuesday, May 23, according to PWInsider.
The New Day will make their official SmackDown debut in Toledo, Ohio tomorrow, according to the site. Their appearance is set to coincide with a WWE Network special focused on their experiences as ‘Mania hosts in Orlando. The video-on-demand program, entitled The New Day's Fantastic Ride, will be available for streaming starting tomorrow.
Like much of Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods recent work for WWE, the special has a marketing tie-in... this one to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV. You can see a clip of it above.
While written off television (in kayfabe due to an injury Kingston suffered during an attack by The Revival, which covered for real-life surgery he needed on his foot), the trio’s kept busy with promotional work. E & Kofi were recently in India supporting the company’s big push there, while Woods has worked on his UpUpDownDown YouTube gaming channel, including material related to WWE’s big sponsorship deal with Rocket League.
Will they get back to more traditional wrestling work? Kingston has reportedly been cleared for action, so it’s possible.
Tune in tomorrow night to find out.
