When Zack Ryder went down with a knee injury, Mojo Rawley had no choice but to embark on a singles run. It would have been fair to assume it wouldn’t go anywhere but he actually won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 and it looked like he may be in for a push up the card.
Nope!
It’s been quite clear creative on the SmackDown Live brand has nothing for him, as he’s been floating around aimlessly for a while now. That includes not even booking him for a match on tonight’s (May 21, 2017) SmackDown exclusive Backlash pay-per-view in Chicago.
His reaction to that:
Undefeated in Singles Action on @WWE #SDLive. Undefeated in PPV Pre-Shows. Won 3 Battle Royals this year. Not on #Backlash. Ready for #MITB.

Surprisingly upbeat!
There isn’t room for everyone all the time, of course, but that Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English made the event over Rawley shows just how little they think of his standing right now.
