WWE NXT TakeOver: Chicago results - What was 'Match of the Night'?

WWE.com

NXT has put a bow tie around its TakeOver: Chicago live event from Allstate Arena as the promotion wrapped up the show tonight (Saturday, May 20, 2017) with an INSANE ladder match where Authors of Pain retained their tag titles, followed by a heartbreaking betrayal as Tommaso Ciampa turned on his #DIY partner and best friend, Johnny Gargano.

Was it the best match on the card?

There’s certainly a case to be made for the show’s second bout, where Pete Dunne claimed the United Kingdom Championship from Tyler Bate, as one of the best WWE matches of the year so far, so there’s that.

Two other titles were defended as well, with Asuka retaining against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot, and Bobby Roode outlasting Hideo Itami. And in the opener, Roderick Strong went against SAnitY’s Eric Young (and company) and came out victorious.
