Asuka’s undefeated streak reaches 175, unless WWE decides it didn’t

NXT Women’s champion Asuka hasn’t been pinned or submitted since joining WWE in 2015, and with the company drawing attention to the number of wins she’s racked up over that time - and even making comparisons to Goldberg’s legendary WCW streak - we decided to follow along.

On Thursday night (May 18) in Highland Heights, Kentucky, the Empress of Tomorrow gave us what she hopes is a preview of her match on Saturday night at TakeOver: Chicago when she pinned Nikki Cross to retain her title in a Triple Threat battle which also featured Ruby Riot.

And with that, the streak stands at...

175!

And padding her lead over Bill G’s WWE-acknowledged 1997 - 1998 streak.

Now, as has been the case for the past few weeks, neither WWE nor Asuka has mentioned this accomplishment, so... It’s possible they’re re-calibrating what was already a worked number in order to celebrate it on a larger stage, like Saturday’s show at Allstate Arena.

We shall see.
