Yep, folks, hot on the heels of Kairi Hojo announcing her departure from Stardom, Io Shirai is following. Dave Meltzer reported as much today on the (free) portion of the Wrestling Observer site.
Much like Kairi, who lost her Wonder of Stardom Championship to Mayu Iwatani yesterday (May 14) in Korakuen Hall, Io will have a bit of work to do before leaving. She retained the World of Stardom title against Toni Storm in a half-hour draw on the same show and Mayu challenged her immediately after, setting up an obvious title unification scenario, even if only temporarily.
However, since Shirai's start date with WWE is currently not set, Stardom would seem to have a bit of wiggle room to get the title on whoever they'd like.
