WWE confirms Braun Strowman elbow surgery, says he could miss up to six months

WWE.com

Early reports on Raw Superstar Braun Strowman’s elbow surgery placed him out of action for one, maybe two months. The way WWE was booking the show even made it seem possible he might make it back for July’s Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view (PPV). Rumors definitely had him back in time for SummerSlam on August 20.

Maybe the official confirmation of his injury and surgery from WWE.com is exaggerated for kayfabe purposes. The company could want us to think the Monster Among Men will be out longer in order to make his comeback a surprise (and to add to his supernatural mystique when he returns from a “shattered elbow” in record time).

But if not, we may be looking to Survivor Series instead of SummerSlam.

Here’s their story, which is accompanied by a photo gallery of pins being inserted into Braun’s elbow joint...

Braun Strowman underwent surgery following the attack by Roman Reigns last Monday on Raw, WWE.com can now confirm.

Immediately after the assault on Strowman’s injured shoulder and elbow by the former WWE Champion, The Monster Among Men left Raw in an ambulance and was able to get back to the United States for an evaluation this past Wednesday. Following the medical consultation, Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman's elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result.

We know the injury didn’t actually occur during last week’s show in London, so hopefully that’s cause for optimism in that we can also take the rest of the story with a grain of salt.

If not, that’s a pretty big blow for Strowman, and the show, after the sustained and successful build he’s received this year.

We’ll keep you posted.
