WWE names John Cena’s ten greatest rivals

Because he’s got a new movie out - the military thriller The Wall - and because he’s still their biggest draw, even if we haven’t seen him on a wrestling show since WrestleMania 33, WWE is talking up John Cena this week.

One fun way they’re doing that is with this list of his greatest rivalries on WWE.com. When you’re coming up on your 15th anniversary, during which you’ve become World champ 16 times, you’ve had your fair share of rivals. I’ve got no real problem with any of the names (even if one is kind of a cutesy, not-really-opponent) on their top ten, but I’d probably quibble over the order of a few.

My two insta-reactions are... “hey, they included Punk!” and “it doesn’t matter how many times you tell me Orton/Cena is an epic rivalry, I’m not buying it when I can’t think of one great match between the two of them.”
